My journey with Quilts of Valor® began not at a sewing machine, but with a deep desire to honor those who have served. Though I didn’t sew, I was inspired by the mission and joined The Crossing Quilts of Valor group after meeting members at a DAR meeting. I now assist with administrative support, NAMS entries, veteran outreach, and quilt presentation planning.
Military service is central to my life—I’m the proud spouse of a retired U.S. Navy officer, mother of an active-duty service member, and niece to many who’ve served. Professionally, I am a retired supply chain professional, including service with the Naval Supply Systems Command.
As a member of the Washington Crossing Chapter, NSDAR, and an active volunteer with Quilts of Valor for over two years, I’m honored to help recognize the service and sacrifice of our veterans. These moments of connection—with veterans who share both heart-wrenching stories and remarkable resilience—are among the most moving and meaningful of my life.
Beyond my professional and volunteer roles, I take great pride in being a stepmother to two wonderful children and a devoted caregiver to one beloved fur baby. I look forward to continuing this mission in partnership with our district and state leaders to ensure every veteran we reach feels seen, honored, and appreciated.
