I have been sewing since I was old enough to reach the pedal on the machine. I was always a garment sewer and had no interest in quilts. Then my niece was born in 2002 and I just felt every baby should have a baby quilt. So, my love affair with quilts was born 24 years ago.
I became a long-armer a few years later and am now on my fifth long-arm machine. I started with Quilts of Valor after learning about a sewing group out of our local VFW Post who were in need of a long-armer. I quickly joined the group and began making quilts with them.
Two years later I was able to get our group registered with the Quilts of Valor Foundation and became our group leader. We have made it our mission to award two to three quilts a month. Our group is committed to honoring our Vets with each quilt we make. We consider it a privilege to be able to do so.
