I grew up with generations of quilters. My introduction to Quilts of Valor happened in 2015 when my niece and nephew recruited me to piece QOV tops for their school project. I continued to stitch for their projects, sending tops from my farm home in western Nebraska to theirs in eastern Nebraska. In 2018, I took a brave step to start a new group in the Nebraska panhandle as we were over 200 miles from the nearest group in our state. Our group, Nebraska Panhandle Blocks, has a broad membership and actively presents to veterans in about 10 counties as well as nearby states.
I became the Nebraska Western District Coordinator in January of 2023.
I am passionate about recognizing and honoring veterans and sharing that vision with others through ceremonies and speaking in community groups. I treasure the opportunity to shake hands with our country’s history and our future one quilt at a time
