21 years in the Navy. Retired as a Chief Petty Officer and was in charge of 8 instructors and 80 students. Scheduled classes for a 12 week school.
VFW District and Post Chaplain. Conducting memorial ceremonies and funerals for veterans. VFW State of MS Women’s veteran service officer. VFW District veterans service officer. Assisting veterans and spouses with filing VA disability claims. MS QOV Gulf Coast Coordinator for approx. 7 years. Organizing and conducting QOV ceremonies, information tables at various local events, recruiting volunteers to ensure the mission of QOV continues to be fulfilled.
I am blessed by every opportunity I have to award a QOV to a deserving veteran. My affiliation with the VFW allows me the opportunity to spread the word and acquire donations that enable us to purchase supplies for making quilts.
