Up until the time I witnessed my first Quilts of Valor ® Award Ceremony, I had been an occasional donor of quilts and long arming services to my quilt guild’s Quilts of Valor contributions. Witnessing an Award Ceremony is powerful and moving – the gratitude expressed by the recipient and their humbleness regarding the award can’t truly be conveyed in words. Following that ceremony, I knew this was an effort I wanted to be involved in because of the significant impact it had on Veterans and Service Members.
