Incoming Executive Director

Kryste M Wallen is an experienced executive leader with extensive experience in both private and non-profit sectors. Working to support various missions and specializing in human services and the arts. Coming from a servant leader background, she has assisted many missions through leadership, committee and volunteer service and was recognized for her work as a 40 Under 40.

She is fine art trained holding a dual BFA in graphic design and photography. She holds an MBA in Business management with an emphasis on servant leadership and is ABD on a PhD in Business specializing in Marketing. Working in higher education she spent over a decade as a professor in the visual arts and business. Her courses covered a broad range of topics including foundation arts, graphic design, branding, product and package design, art history, market research and business.

Kryste is humbled to be chosen to serve this important cause and was drawn to this mission because of a long family history of military service. Her grandfather was an Army veteran of WWII and held a leadership role within the American Legion. During his time, he worked to unify veterans through the development of reunions across the country. She spent many years as the spouse of a former Green Beret and understands the unique circumstances that come with dedicating your life to the service of our country. Additionally, she mentored students who worked to balance their service and education, ensuring they were supported in both endeavors. Currently one of her nephews is finishing basic training for the Marines and she is ready and waiting to send care packages as needed.
