QOVF Mission Statement:
To cover service members and veterans touched by war
with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Are service member’s or veteran’s families or other support personnel eligible for QOVs?
No, they are not. QOVF awards quilts only to service members and living veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. QOVF acknowledges and appreciates the support of families. We also remember and honor those who have given their lives for our freedoms, but do not award QOVs posthumously.
- A Patriotic Quilt. Any group or individual may make and give a quilt as they see fit. However, the quilts cannot be labeled as a “Quilt of Valor” and funds raised under the QOVF auspices cannot be used to make them.
- A Patriotic Block or Wall Hanging. Any group or individual may make an “In Memory of…,” “In Honor of…,” or “Thank you” block, perhaps in a frame, or as a wall hanging.
- Contact other Organizations and/or Participate in other Organizations. There are several organizations that make quilts for families of the fallen and family members.
