Last weekend, The Quilts of Valor® Foundation awarded 16 quilts to veterans in two ceremonies. A private ceremony Friday morning kicked off the weekend, where volunteers wrapped five veterans in their quilts. On Saturday evening, the celebration continued at the Hero’s Banquet, where the team honored 11 more veterans.
These presentations are made possible thanks to several dedicated volunteers:
- Linda Martien, Missouri State Coordinator
- Gwen Clopton and members of Quilts of Valor in The Loop from St. Louis
- Janet Gustuson, a QOV member from Montana and member of the Mobile Riverine Force Association
- Eric Bowden, professional photograph, who captured the ceremony images
In addition to the quilt presentations, Harry Hahn, President of the Mobile Riverine Force Association, received a Certificate of Appreciation for The Johnson Family Fund thanking them for their generous support to the Foundation.
These events continually affirm the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s mission: to recognize all veterans touched by war and to wrap them in the warmth of a grateful nation.
