Secretary

Nancy Grigsby’s familiarity with the military and its deep sense of honor and dedication to duty,  runs deep as a dependent, spouse, and veteran herself. As the daughter of a fighter pilot, she experienced life as a “military brat” with many different addresses and schools across the country.  She attended the University of Tennessee, commissioning into the Air Force as a Manpower Management Officer upon graduation.  At the rank of Captain, she resigned her commission to support her family and husband, a pilot in the Air Force.  As a family, they traveled extensively from assignment to assignment during her husband’s career.  She worked for aviation manufacturing companies, a municipality, and government contracting companies over the years as a HR professional during her time as a military spouse.   She retired in 2024 with over 35 years of experience in human resources.   She has held a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 2001 and has a Master’s of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.

A  constant in all of the moves and travels has been her love of sewing, carefully hand carrying her sewing machine from assignment to assignment.  Her love of sewing and quilting started as a child, learning to sew from her mother.   She became familiar with Quilts of Valor after making a patriotic quilt for her husband’s birthday.  She has made numerous quilts over the years for her seven grandchildren, other family members, and friends.  She has three grown children with families and currently lives in the Greenville, SC area.
