Julie Dodds is a semi-retired orthopedic surgeon who worked for over 30 years at Michigan State University. A graduate of Iowa State University (BS-Zoology) and University of Iowa (MD), she also had training at University of Wisconsin and Vanderbilt University. She is currently practicing in Fairmont, Minnesota a few days a week. The other days of the week are spent at her quilt shop/retreat center, The Quilted Steeple, near Lone Rock, Iowa. Julie recently moved back from Michigan to continue the Dodds legacy at the family farm and to manage the Steeple, which resides in an old country church in the middle of the cornfields of Iowa!
Julie is a Life Member in QOVF, having been involved for the past 10 years. The Quilted Steeple has hosted a sewing retreat for the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary for the past 11 years, producing over 250 QOV tops to honor our veterans. The daughter of a WWII Navy veteran, she is honored to give back to the QOVF by serving on its Board of Directors.
