Sheri "Samy" Owen

State Coordinator and Regional Coordinator
I live in Clarkston, Washington with my wonderful husband, Terry, our little dog, Bishop, and a very large cat named Meegs. We have three grown children and five grandchildren. I was born in Boise, Idaho. Clarkston, WA and Lewiston, Idaho are one large community and I consider Idaho my home even though I live across the river in Washington.
I have traveled extensively, living in Saigon, Viet Nam and Mt. Tom Price, Western Australia. I have visited many countries, but I am always happy to be back home.
My grandfather was in the Army, my father served in the Navy durring WWII and three uncles served in VietNam. My son is a Seabee; one of my sons-in-law is in the Army and the other is a Navy Veteran. All three of “my boys” have had numerous deployments and I am very proud of them. I have five beautiful grandchildren and being military; do not get to see them nearly as often as I would like.
I recently retired, after 28 years with the State of Idaho in the mental health field. It is now time to do something else. I am a photographer, quilter, and crafter. I love to make pretty things to give to my family and friends. I have made comfort quilts, memory quilts and Quilts of Valor.  I have been sewing for more than five decades and quilting for over three. I own my own long arm. I stopped by a QOVF Booth at my local quilt show a few years ago and met Sharon Ledbetter ….. need I say more?
