Hi! I am Sandi and I am a veteran of the US Coast Guard and US Navy with time in Desert Storm. I met the ladies of QOV in western Nebraska during a VA “Stand Down” at Western Nebraska Community College. I was fascinated with the program and the work. I am a mental health/substance abuse professional, therefore I got permission to submit some of my clients and even watched one receive his QOV. One of the ladies on that team knew me therefore submitted my name to receive one as well. WHEW! As a veteran, it is hard to share how one feels when you receive a QOV! When my husband and I moved to Cheyenne and noticed that there was no contact information for me to get hooked up with QOV, I decided to give it a go. Every time I see a veteran, I tell them, “Thank you for your service dear brother!” I learned how to quilt by hand in 1981, in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. I am so happy to be partially retired to start quilting again AND THANK MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS in uniform here in Wyoming!
