State Coordinator

I became aware of Quilts of Valor by way of Fons & Porter on OETA (our local PBS) where they highlighted the Foundation. My father, husband and son have all served, and I was intrigued by the purpose and mission of Q of V. At the time, I never dreamed how fulfilling it could be, or the wonderful people I would meet along the way. I have been blessed and brought to tears by so many of the recipients, my cup overflows.

I have lived in Oklahoma for almost 13 years. My husband and I served as missionaries in South America, Mexico and in the US for more than 18 years. As much of the world as I have seen and admired, grandchildren are the greatest adventure I’ve experienced.

When I see a veteran out and about, dressed proudly in jackets or ballcaps with patches or insignias that are military, I am humbled that I can offer them more than “thank you for your service”. To be able to point them to the website and later present a quilt, is priceless.

I work with a wonderful group of selfless women, who are dedicated, generous and proud to give purpose to their “hobby” of quilting. I look forward to meeting so many more.
