I live in North Pole, Alaska, which is just outside Fairbanks, Alaska. I grew up in New Hampshire and have lived in several states.
I started making quilts when you cut out your pieces with scissors and cardboard templates. I enjoy the changes that have happened over the years.
As a teen ager I made most of my clothing, so it was an easy transition to making quilts. Quilting and making hand spun yarn are hobby’s that I enjoy. My first QOV was given to a veteran long before I knew anything about Quilts of Valor Foundation.
On moving to Alaska, I looked for a group that was giving back to the community. I have found that in a local quilting group.
As the Northern Alaska District Coordinator, I cover an area 1/6th the size of the continental United States. I’m looking forward to working alongside the Alaska State Director Linda Kau in covering Alaska with Quilts of Valor.
