I’ve been with Quilts of Valor since June of 2016 becoming the District Coordinator in 2022. I’ve been married for 47 years to George Yarbrough, who supports my love of Quilt of Valor and travels with me on my adventures with QOVF. I have 2 children and soon to be 5 grandchildren. I learned to sew while in junior high school and have sewn all my life.
I enjoy wrapping our service members and veterans and am humbled by the opportunity to show my appreciation for their military service. Two of my favorite wrappings were a 92 year old veteran that survived the Battle of the Bulge that stated it was the coldest winter in over 200 years of Germany’s history. I knew when I wrapped him with his quilt, he would never be cold again. And wrapping the actor/singer Kris Kristofferson for his military service. Both of these two events mean so much to me.
