Executive Director

Lexie Millikan is an artist, educator, and curator living in western Kentucky. After receiving her BFA, with a focus in fiber, installation, and social practice, at the Kansas City Art Institute, she worked at her alma mater teaching studio electives and serving as Fiber Department technician. Eventually Lexie moved to Kentucky where she served as the Fiber Artist in Residence at the Paducah School of Art & Design for two years. From 2018 – 2024, Lexie served as the Executive Director of Yeiser Art Center, a non-profit regional art organization focused on exhibitions and art education through community outreach. Under her direction, Yeiser Art Center received the Kentucky Governors’ Award in the Arts for Community Arts in 2023.

Lexie continues to teach art classes in universities, high schools, and community settings in the Midwest and Mid-South. She has taught fabric dyeing classes for AQS QuiltWeek, and assisted with natural dye and quilting classes at Penland School of Craft. Her own artwork has been exhibited throughout the country and internationally and has been featured in Nashville Arts, Paducah Life, and Quiltfolk Magazine. Lexie has represented Paducah, Kentucky in the UNESCO Creative Cities network at events and exhibitions in Mexico, South Korea, Spain, and Italy. While she enjoys traveling, she also loves spending time at home with her husband, exploring the hills of Kentucky. She is honored to serve on the board of directors of the Community Arts Foundation in Marion, Kentucky and has twice been nominated for the Young Leader of Western Kentucky Award.
