This year’s Block is the Log Cabin, designed and written by Nancy Cann. There are many ways and sizes to make Log Cabin blocks, which involve different strip widths, color combinations, and overall planning. Fabrics need to be 100% cotton, and color selection should be confined to shades of red, white or cream, and blue, and can be solids or small scale prints.
Along with the Log Cabin Block Instructions, we are featuring 12 patterns for creating your Log Cabin Quilts. All 12 pattern links are listed here.

Sharing Your Block Photographs or Videos
Consider tagging Quilts of Valor Foundation on social media platforms and using #QOVFNationalBlockDrive2025, # QOVF2025Block, and #QOVFLogCabinBlock with your Log Cabin posts. For those not on social media, you can submit a photograph or video to marketing@qovf.org. If you wish to send an article and pictures to be featured in our Threads newsletter, you can send them to newslettersubmission@qovf.org.
Without the support of our members and the many individuals, guilds, and organizations, we would not be as far along in our mission of awarding Quilts of Valor to veterans and active-duty service members. We thank you all for your continued support.
