UK-QOVF Misc
Miscellaneous
Longarm quilting
In the UK there is no co-ordinated facility for patchworkers to send their top to a longarmer for quilting. It is up to the individual to make their own personal arrangements. This will include agreement on supply quantity and quality of materials and the cost of packing and shipping.
Quality Issues
Q. C.
QOVF-UK reserve the right to reject any quilts that are deemed unsuitable for presentation.
The makers of any quilt rejected by QOVF- UK will be advised via the contact details provided and they may make arrangements for the quilt to be returned subject to meeting the shipping costs.
Sponsorship
Some people who are not quilters themselves may wish to sponsor a quilt by paying for the materials and shipping costs. QOVF-UK will not be involved in the sponsorship directly and it is up to each quilter to make their own arrangements with the sponsor.
The final quilt when received by QOVF-UK will be labeled with the name of the sponsor as provided by the quilter.
Award of Quilts
QOVF-UK does not send QOVs directly to hospitals or rehabilitation centres.
Awards are made through close liaison with regiments and whenever possible the presentation of the QOV will be made by a senior officer.
Quilts of Valor Foundation (USA)
QOVF-UK was inspired by the American example.
We are forever indebted to its founder Catherine Roberts who has given us the support and encouragement to set up and develop the British campaign.
