Marcella Pirner-Cormier,  Destinations Coordinator QOV Foundation

Hello, my name is Marcella Pirner-Cormier. I live in Gardner, MA with my husband of seventeen years, Michael. We have no children, but do have two very spoiled dogs named Pooh Bear and Wickett.

I have nine years experience in the high-tech field and I have just finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with plans to become a Web Developer.

I have been a quilter for fourteen years and learned about Quilts of Valor through the Heartstrings Quilt Project. Even though I do not know anyone in the military, I realized QOV is a very worthy cause and wanted to get involved. After being unable to find a QOV group in Massachusetts, in January 2010, I started Central MA Quilts of Valor with the help of some very dedicated quilting friends. We currently meet twice a month to piece tops and once a month to cut quilt kits so we can keep all the volunteer’s sewing machines busy.
